Riverside Bifold Ltd prioritise using the latest designs and technologies in our Southampton based factory. We only use the best systems on the market – those from AluK and Eurocell. Whether you want to offer customers aluminium, uPVC bifold doors or a mixture of the two, the impressive technical designs of either system are sure to help you meet customer specifications and build your business.
In addition to the technical successes below, all of our glazed bifolds come are fantastic in terms of energy efficiency. Warm edge spaces, argon gas filled units and ‘A’ rated soft coat glazing are all offered as standard – which appeals to customers who are keen on energy efficiency.
Eurocell uPVC: Up to 7 glazing panels can be incorporated. A patented trim conceals gaskets and no dummy mullion is required (creating a more attractive finish). Hardware such as midrails and letter plates can be incorporated and the unobtrusive D-handle fits flat against the door frame, maximising the size of the door opening and improving sightlines.
AluK aluminium: Can achieve large spans and frameless corners (effectively replacing entire walls), unique flush line handle allows maximum door opening and maximised sightlines. Internally beaded with a softline detail to all panels, with chamfered and square bead options. Range of bespoke hardware can be incorporated.
Ease of use and functionality
Eurocell uPVC: The unique D-handle prevents shoot bolts being engaged when the door is open. The roller track makes for smooth operation and in-built rollers come as standard. Flush fitting internal room dividing thresholds, as well as Part-M double ramped and angled styles are available. Magnetic door stops enable neat folding against walls.
AluK aluminium: Four stainless steel wheels ensure smooth and consistent operation, durable locking hardware, unique flush line pop-out handle allows for maximum door opening (allowing customers to make the most of available space).
Eurocell uPVC: Door openings up to 6000mm. Unique roller assembly means doors can be configured to meet customer preferences – including popular 4/2/2 and simple 2/2/0 styles.
AluK aluminium: Door frame range from 1600 to 7000mm, panel height between 1600 and 3000mm, panel width between 400 and 1200mm, maximum sash weight of 130kg, doors can be stacked inside or outside, to the left or right or split stacked. Can incorporate independent operating doors.
Compliancy and accreditation
Eurocell uPVC: First bifold doors of any material to gain BBA certification (in the UK), Secured by Design status, complies with PAS 24 and BS 6375 standards
AluK aluminium: Certified under the Secured by Design initiative, HD style endurance tested to 25,000 cycles in accordance with BS EN 1527. Low threshold option means it can achieve DDA and Part M compliance.
